Pet Peeve!

Introduction: “Hi, how are you,” that is the welcome that everyone wants to hear as they step into any store. I remember those days where salesclerks treated their costumers with respect and they were like your buddy, helping us make our decisions; but nowadays, things started to change.

Ferris Wheel Eyes
Introduction:I mean do you really want to see the eyes turning like a Ferris wheel before you purchase an item? There are a lot of things I can put up with but I definitely can not stand rude salesclerks!
Why: The reason why stores have costumer service is because it is suppose to help their costumers and make them feel wealthy, not irritate them. We as customers are buying items from their store making them have a successful business and being rude is not a good way to show us their appreciation.
How: As you go throughout life, you will be forced to go out and buy things, but if rude salesclerks continue, you would have to interact with them for the rest of your life. It makes it difficult for me to purchase things because maybe there is only one store that sales the things I need and if that store have pour costumer service, I have no choice but to buy items from them and once again I have to experience another day with rude salesclerks.
Experience: I still remember that one time when this costumer service lady really agitated me even though it was years and years ago. I had politely asked the lady if she can help me find a smaller size for these cute shoes and what happen, she started rolling her eyes at me. If you don’t want to help, say to yourself not express it in front of the costumer!
Closing: I am not asking the world to be perfect but what I am asking is to decrease the percent of rude salesclerks.

Yackety-Yack Shut Your Trap
Introduction: Aren’t you tired of a long answer when you just want to hear the answer yes or no?
Why: When you’re in a hurry and you just want to buy something really quickly there’s always something stopping you to be late; and in this case it’s the salesclerks.
How: Trying to be nice you might ask a salesclerk for their opinion on your dress, thinking that they would answer yes or no but once they start opening their mouth to answer you, you will regret what you did. In place of the answer yes or no the salesclerk would go on and on. Maybe at first they would compliment you but then the criticisms would start hitting toward you.
Experience: Way back in my head, I could still remember how I was late for my family picnic because of a salesclerk. Before the picnic I decided that I should buy some fruits for my family so I went to the supermarket. Because I am still young, I don’t have many experiences with buying food so I asked one of the salesclerk on to pick out good fruits. And what happen, the lady went on and on of the fruits texture, smell, appearance; I mean yeah I want to learn how to pick out fruits, but I don’t need an interminable lesson.
Closing: I do appreciate salesclerk trying to educate me on shopping experiences but I really don’t need to waste half an hour of on and on discussion about fruits! I mean, people have a life you know!
Sassy Face:
Introduction: Do you want to see a salesclerk give you their nastiest face before you ask them a simple question like, “Excuse me, where is the bathroom?”
Why: People will have bad days but you shouldn't try to influence your misery to others. Salesclerks interact and socialize with their customers everyday and dealing with your misery you should try your best to make others don’t feel what your feeling.
How: If the customer is planning for their wedding and they’re looking in your store for their bouquet, you as the salesclerk don’t want to bring them down. But how I see it, salesclerks are always trying their best to make others feel worst then how they’re feeling.
Experience: I still remember this one time, when this customer service lady wasn’t in a good mood and she started screaming at me and other customers!
Closing: I am not asking for everyone everyday to juggle 8 balls on top of the empire building but what I am asking is that salesclerk should make others feel good not bring them down.

Conclusion: My pet peeve is rude salesclerks and not one day I could buy a shirt without having eyes rolling, never-ending discussions on a topic that doesn’t even make sense, and seeing a sassy face. If you’re one of those rude salesclerk, please stop. You might not figure it out but people loath your attitude!

Cool Keyboard Codes!

Had you ever wish to know how to paste pictures without waiting for almost 5 minutes! Luckily for you, there is a way, thanks to keyboard codes! In the following passage I will show you some codes you can use instead of using your mouse that will work ten times faster. Don't feel bad if you don't know these codes beacause really, I don't know these codes either until now.
Some keyboard codes that I learn are...
Ctrl + B = Bold
Ctrl + U= Underline
Ctrl + I = Italics
Ctrl + C = Copy
Ctrl + V = Paste
Ctrl + X = Cut
Ctrl + A = Select All
Ctrl + S = Save
Ctrl + P = Print
Ctrl + Z = Undo
Ctrl + Y = Redo
Ctrl + O = Open
Ctrl + N = New
Ctrl + 2 = Double Spaced                                                                                                                          Out of all of these shortcuts, I didn't know any of them. I think that the most useful codes for me is the paste and copy ones because I use those the most and the codes that I think are the least useful is the italics. I don't know any other codes besides this and I hope you find some of these shortcuts useful.

SKUNKS!!!

Photo: Baby striped skunks   If you take a survey for which animal you don't like the best, skunks would probably be the top 10 animals. Many people are afraid when they see a skunk but really it's not just them that are scared. Skunks are no harm creatures and because the way people react to seeing them causes them to release its odor. I'm not saying that I like skunks, but what I am saying is that skunks should be treated better.
Skunks are very unique animals and so I wanted to learn more about them. Thanks to the website, http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/skunk/ I learn a lot of interesting facts about them. For example, did you know that a skunk's spray is an oily liquid produced by glands under its large tail? I didn't know that the spray came from its body! Also, skunk spray causes no real damage to its victims. Some people that had been sprayed by skunks, think it damamges them because of how uncomfortable it is, but really its nothing. Finally, as a defensive technique, the spray is very effective.
What people never thought of is that skunks don't just spray other things for fun, they do it to protect themselve. I actually think that this is a gift beause this is a very smart technique and sometimes you have to do what you can do to survive. I hope that you change your opinion about skunks. I hope you enjoy this post and remember, it's not really the skunk's fault if they spray you.

Special Peacemaker Post

The Quote
The quote, "You must be the change you want to see in the world" really interest me for various reasons. One reason why is because I can really relate to it. I have met a lot of people who are trying to change others but really, they haven't change themselves yet. I think what this quote is trying to say is that before you change others, take a look at yourself first.
Other Quotes
Other quotes that I think is the runner up for the first quote are...
1."Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something"
2. "Act as if what you do makes a difference, it does!"
3. "If you have time to whine and complain about something, then you have time to do something about it"
Peacemakers
I really like the idea of peacemakers because it shows not only students, but adults how to deal with bad influential people and how to live a happy life. All of the quotes listed above shows how to bring peace to our community and life. I hope that all these quotes can make an impact to the world.

Bats, Bats, Bats!

Halloween Myspace Comments
When you think about all the creatures on Halloween, you think about vampires, werewolves, zombies and ghosts, but what about bats? Bats are also a part of the many creatures on Halloween but they are still normal animals. Many people are afraid of bats for various reasons and beacuse of that, they never really have research about bats. Since Halloween was coming up, I decided to find more facts about bats and thanks to the website,  http://www.wvu.edu/~agexten/wildlife/bats.pdf I found really cool and interesting facts about them. Even though the pictures of the bats are a little scary looking, they are what they are and they're beautiful the way they are.
Did you know that there are nearly 1,000 species of bats in the world? However, bats are basically tropical animals and only about 40 kinds of bats live in North America. Also, bats have been around a long time, since the age of dinosaurs. Ancient bats resembled those living today. Except for the most extreme desert and polar regions, bats today live in almost every kind of habitat worldwide. I can't beleive that bats have been around for so long! Bats have some amazing abilities: Mexican free-tailed bats can fly 10,000 feet high.Townsend’s-big eared bats can pluck insects from foliage. Hibernating little brown bats can stop breathing for almost an hour during hibernation to reduce their energy needs. Fishing bats have an echolocation system so sophisticated they can detect a minnow’s fin as fine as a human hair. The Honduran white bat, a colorful snow-white bat with yellow nose and ears, cuts large leaves to make “tents” to protect its small colonies from drenching jungle rains. Bats have so many talents that I have never thought they could have!
As you can see, bats are very interesting little creatures. Bats are very different from any other animals, and every animal is unique in its own way counting bats. There is a book that is really amazing and I am pretty sure that all of you have heard it because it is a very famous book. The title of the book is Stellaluna. This book is about bats and what I love about this book is that it shows that bats are very friendly, loving animals. I hope you learn alot more about bats after reading this blog.
